The Highlight Reality was invented during my time on SWG to basically hit people with a reality check. Unlike countless spineless blogger and authors and players around the online communities, in The Highlight Reality we aren't afraid to tell people exactly what we think of them in their face. You won't see the "certain someone said this" or covert flames towards others. Everything is as direct and open as they can be.Well, lets not waste any more time and get on with this edition of The Highlight Reality :
Sl and Fashion, yes there are a lot of fahsionista out here in this virtual world. Men and women talking about fashion, styles, clothes and brands. People share their ideas and style with one another and if you are into fashion it can be a wonderful thing. Well of course with that comes the exact opposite, the fashionista men and women that go out there to criticize the work and styles of others. One of these people happen to be Meara Deschanel and her WTF blog.
Now personally I am ALL for making fun of people's styles, yeah it can be fun. However when the author is someone who's only vacation is her sister's house, and only vision of clothes and fashion is what Target has to offer should keep their mouth firmly shut about what people wear around irl or on sl. When you think the Gap is the place "trendy" people shop at, and can't recall a single even semi-trendy shop in a conversation, you cannot possibly know much about fashion. Now I know coming to a virtual world such as SL and talk about fashion and get all bitchy and catty towards how other people dress their avatar may make you seem like the cool high school teenage girl that you never were, a little bit of a reality check is in order. So next time you decide to talk about fashion and make fun of people's style, take a good look at yourself and your wardrobe and realize you need more than Target shopping spree fashion experience to qualify to make those judgements.
Now while we are on this subject still, Meara when I say the "biker" look is the trend, that means styles that have a biker flair to them, not actual biker outfits and a motorcycle hun, if you ever step out side of target you would know that.
Ok so ..moving on ..... It seems as though many have been shocked and absolutely offended that some people have been called a cheap basement bargain slut for the fact they have been publicly engaging in sexual acts. Well .... we will revisit this topic when we move on to the "I'm not a whore" section of this edition of The Highlight Reality. For now, I will clear up a couple of points here. First off, lesbian sex is only attractive when 2 GOOD looking women who weight less than 200 pounds get it on, not when we have a bunch of women who clearly lack a RL sex life and are well ...not so attractive get it on publicly where you can just stumble across it.
Also recently I was accused of calling Codie a monster. Please allow me to re-clarify that, I never thought of Codie as a monster. I more see him/her as a big red clown with a fat avatar who's only source of entertainment is plurk and plurk sex. So please, don't misrepresent me.
PS Codie, hun, sorry to break it down to you, but real people never say "it tastes divine" after an oral presentation. A woman's privates doesn't taste Divine ...it really doesn't Codie take it from people who speak from personal experience.
Truth Hawks, a man who's name is a sample of his creativity has recently decided to get himself involved with drama. See here we have discussions , hateful comments, flamings, going on about public cybering and such, and Truth jumps both feet in and starts talking about my RL picture ......what ? a little insecure there Truth ? Sad to see there are guys who play the game that actually look better than their avatars ? (true statement, been told that by several women) I tell you what, why don't you post a real life picture of yourself before you go around talking about other people's rl looks, because I can assure you you wouldn't measure up to my GOOORRRGEOUS waist. I get more pie in one night than you would get your entire life Truth, remember that. Now I have a question for you and I'm not afraid to say it in your face unlike you with your comments towards me. Talk about misrepresenting people's words and thoughts. Recently it seems Stephanie Misfit has become the 18235th person to have a problem with me. Now I have absolutely no problem with people who have a problem with me, but if you are going to hate me and flame me, at least do it in my face and don't lie about it. See Stephanie I make a comment about how "I think people who engage in public sex for attention and do it in places where it does not belong are cheap basement bargain sluts", you make a plurk saying "Sands thinks women who cyber are cheap basement bargain sluts", and you do it with your timeline set to private so I can't correct the "misunderstanding". Are you that desperate ? Why didn't you just copy/past what i said and bash on it ? Oh ..right ...because no one would have disagree with me calling people who pull their pants down at every public gathering a cheap basement bargain slut.
To me Steph, it seems like this gets under your skin because you seem to be able to relate to it. Whatever your reasons are, if you are going to disagree with someone and call them on it, do it where they can respond to you and don't change and modify their words. Ok lets round up this edition of The Highlight Reality with the "I'm not a whore" statement made by Meara Deschanel in defence of her behaviour as of late. A few nights ago, Meara offered me sex and threesome as payment if I could convince a friend to remove a blog post. These type of behaviour tagged along with her public sexual acts has led her to use the line "I am not a whore" more than the usual.
Before we move on, let me bring up the official translation of the word "whore" :

Going with the premise that I have understood you correctly, I have a few more questions:
1. Who gets to determine which avatars are attractive enough to engage in lesbian cybering? And, given that my avatar was involved in the cybering, perhaps that person would be willing to meet me inworld for a style consultation. I'd hate for my avatar to be considered unattractive. Would you mind passing along the message?
2. You would think the negative correlation between cybersex and a healthy atomic sex life would be obvious, and in some cases, that may be the case. However, researchers also agree that virtual sex can be a great means of pleasuring, and a great precursor or additive to an already healthy person’s sex life. Are you telling me that you have not and do not engage in virtual sex? I would assume this based on the amount of "pie" *shudders* you claim to have access to. 3. Well to start off Gabby please allow me to thank you for taking the time to visit the first 2009 edition of The Highlight Reality !!!
Ok let's get started here. *clears his throat* No I did not say that lesbian sex is only "acceptable" when 2 or more good looking women are involved, I said it is only "attractive" when 2 or more good looking women are involved. Hope that clears up the first misunderstanding.
Moving on to your second assumption, no I did not and do not believe that people who engage in cybersex are lacking a fulfilling sex life in rl. The content of the sexual text and the way it was presented and described, suggested that the person in question which in my case would be Codie, has a very limited real life sex experience. Many "researchers" over the decades have come to agree, after years of debate, experimenting and testing that a woman's vagina does NOT taste divine. Such comments, which are absolutely ridiculous to make during cybersex ...or even real sex for that matter suggest the lack of a fulfilling or in this case almost non-existent real life sex life.
Now to answer the 3 questions you brought up :
1) Well who gets to judge the appearance of the avatars and the people, I believe that would be based on each person's personal taste and judgement. However certain attributes are facts, such as body weight, size, height ect. As far as needing help with making sure your avatar looks presentable, I as the shaman of sexy would gladly be able to assist you. Provided you can afford the price.
2) The second question was pretty much answered earlier in my reply to clear the misunderstanding.
3) The persons responsible for determining the censorship of sexual content in public places/forums are the ones who have come to shape and form our society over the years. Why do you think it is illegal to play porn at a public store in shopping malls ? Why does our society berate such actions ? Same reasons why you shouldn't be participating in vivid sexual activities in public forums where people can stumble across it.
I am actually surprised that someone as intelligent as yourself would even raise such question. Raising that question not only questions your integrity as a human being, but it also questions your intelligence on many levels.
Aside from the obvious reasons as why sexual activities in public places are inappropriate, a lot of the heat around this topic comes from the fact i called the person/persons involved a cheap basement bargain slut. Irony here would be the fact that anyone that has complained about me making that statement has turned into a "Sands hates people who cyber" rather than staying true to my comments which I question the integrity of people who engage in constant public sexual actions without being too "picky" with the partner/partners.
Let's take a closer look at the "Cheap basement bargain slut". Cheap obviously indicates the price, while basement bargain is a reference to the history of "basement sales" in shops. Usually the basement of shops were reserved for discounted prices in certain parts of the world, that is where the "basement bargain" term originates from. Lastly the word slut translates into a person (usually a woman) who doesn't have standards or limitations when it comes to their sex partners.
Now lets take the term cheap basement bargain slut and apply it to Codie who was one of the people that my comment was made towards. Considering the number of people and the requirements to enter her "playing field" based on the public presentations, we can come to the conclusion that she is a slut due to the lack of standards or limitations with her choices as a sex partner. Taking into consideration that the only requirement to jump both feet in that playing field was a simple "hey can i get in ?" the price to gain access can't be too high at all, so she is pretty cheap. Lastly taking into account the unattractive avatar and form of cybering, perfectly resembles the unattractive and not so desirable products usually placed in the basement sales, makes a good reference to the "basement bargain" term.
So in conclusion Codie is a perfect example of a Cheap Basement Bargain Slut. Hope that clears up all the misunderstandings.

np Elizabeth and I absolutely agree with your statement. It is in the eye of the beholder, no doubt. However when you live your life the way you believe is the right way, then go around and try to force your will and views on others and harrass those that don't see things your way, you should expect a response back much like my blog post.

Seriously people, have you been in SL for more than 6 months? Shouldn't you all know by now that by commenting, plurking, and having your friends read blog posts like this the more power you give to the blog owner? Not only that but they then sit back and laugh at you.... but people (like me) who love reading all the dramz will also laugh at you being all flustered and angry over your virtual world image.
Next time, I'd suggest keeping mouths shut, turning away, and not bringing it up to *anyone*. Why? then they lose credibility- people will believe your side of the story more if you *do not* make a big deal about it.
